Tuesday Tips: Mark Clip

Here’s how to quickly mark in and out points on a clip. Just park your playhead over the clip you want to select in the timeline and press X. This will mark an in and out point around the clip without the need to select the clip first. Final Cut Pro uses the Auto Select buttons to decide which clip to mark with video tracks taking priority over audio tracks and low numbered tracks taking priority over high numbered ones.

Option-X will clear the in and out points (this also works in the Viewer for source clips).
